Forge Nano Breaks Ground on “America’s Battery Gigafactory” to Strengthen U.S. Defense Supply Chains
Forge Nano, the company merging with ATII, broke ground on a major expansion of its North Carolina facility, targeting 3 GWh of annual battery capacity by 2028.
The project is backed by $100 million in non-dilutive U.S. Department of Energy funding and a $20 million strategic investment from Samsung SDI.
Samsung SDI has also committed to a conditional procurement agreement for cells manufactured at the new Gigafactory.
