Golden Minerals Commences Drilling at its Desierto Property, Argentina
Golden Minerals has commenced a 1,250-meter, six-hole drill program on its Desierto property in Salta Province, Argentina, with an estimated budget of $1.088 million.
The four- to six-week program tests three targets — Sico, Cobre, and Iceberg — with completion expected in Q4 2026 and results in Q1 2027. The Cobre vein has never been drill-tested and grabbed samples up to 45.8 g/t gold, while Iceberg targets alteration contiguous with First Quantum's neighboring Taca Taca deposit.
The JV partner's interest is being sold to a First Quantum affiliate, which could matter for the company's option agreement on half its Desierto interest.
