Empire Petroleum Marks Strategic Milestone With Successful 21,006-Foot Well in the Western Haynesville in Texas to Accelerate Revenue Development
Empire Petroleum successfully re-entered and deepened the Wakefield-Harrison GU B #1 well to a measured depth of 21,006 feet, marking the deepest modern evaluation in the Western Haynesville by a microcap company.
The project was completed for approximately $4.4 million, significantly lower than the $30 million to $45 million peers spend on new wells, with hydrocarbon shows recorded and modern logs recovered at temperatures up to 434 degrees Fahrenheit.
Management views this milestone as transformational, providing the subsurface data needed to accelerate revenue development across 11,000 feet of previously untested section in the Intermediate and Deep Production Zones.
