Genelux Corporation, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, focuses on developing next-generation oncolytic viral immunotherapies for patients suffering from aggressive and/or difficult-to-treat solid tumor types. Its lead product candidate is Olvi-Vec, a proprietary, modified strain of the vaccinia virus for the treatment of ovarian cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer. The company is also developing V2ACT Immunotherapy for the treatment of pancreatic cancer; and V-VET1 to treat hematologic and solid cancer. The company was incorporated in 2001 and is headquartered in Westlake Village, California.
Genelux announced the publication of translational data from the Phase 1b/2 VIRO-15 trial in Gynecologic Oncology Reports, validating the mechanism of action for Olvi-Vec in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
The analysis demonstrated that Olvi-Vec modulates the tumor microenvironment, activates immune pathways, and induces gene expression changes consistent with chemotherapy sensitization.
These findings provide biological support for the ongoing registrational Phase 3 OnPrime/GOG-3076 study and reinforce the rationale for systemic use in lung cancer indications.
