Matrix Announces Award for Front-End Engineering and Design on America First Refining Storage Tank Farm in Brownsville, Texas
Matrix Service Company (Nasdaq: MTRX) was awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the storage tank farm at America First Refining's planned large-scale refinery in Brownsville, Texas.
The AFR project would be the first new major U.S. refinery built in more than 50 years, designed to process roughly 60 million barrels of domestic crude annually and produce Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, jet fuel, and specialized gasoline.
No contract value was disclosed, and the award is a pre-FID step: AFR must still reach Final Investment Decision before the project advances, though the win positions Matrix for potentially larger construction scope if it does.
