Ocean Power Technologies Demonstrates Offshore Deployment of Greensea IQ Bayonet 150 from Modified WAM-V 16
Ocean Power Technologies completed a proof of concept for Greensea IQ demonstrating offshore deployment of the 300-pound Bayonet 150 amphibious vehicle from a modified WAM-V 16 unmanned surface vessel.
During the test, the WAM-V carried the Bayonet offshore, executed a remotely triggered release, deployed its umbilical, and the Bayonet completed an independent transit to the beach under Greensea IQ's control system.
The demonstration positions the WAM-V as modular transport and deployment infrastructure for partner systems, with potential relevance to mine countermeasures and littoral defense missions, though no contract or revenue was announced.
