MapQuest Adds Public Transit Directions, Helping Travelers Plan Complete Trips by Bus, Train, and More
MapQuest, owned by System1 (NYSE: SST), launched public transit directions in its app, letting users plan complete journeys combining buses, trains, trams, and walking.
Coverage at launch spans nearly 2,000 cities in more than 70 countries, with real-time departure and delay information in over 350 cities.
The feature follows a surge of brand attention earlier this year when MapQuest declined to rename Lake Ontario, and was the platform's most-requested capability; live navigation is planned as a future addition.
The release contains no financial metrics, so revenue impact is unquantified.
