Tecogen Reports Second Quarter 2026 Financial Results
Tecogen reported Q2 2026 revenue of $5.75 million, down 21.2% year-over-year, with a net loss of $2.15 million widening from $1.46 million in the prior year. Despite the top-line decline, the company highlighted a non-data center backlog of approximately $8 million and noted service revenue is currently 10% higher year-over-year.
CEO Abinand Rangesh stated the company has hosted 12 product demonstrations for data centers representing over eight gigawatts of capacity, which control 15% to 20% of all US data center capacity. Consequently, Tecogen is building inventory of its dual power source chiller and power generation systems to respond quickly to these opportunities.
The company finished the quarter with $6.78 million in cash and expects Q3 product revenue to be higher than Q1 and Q2. Adjusted EBITDA was negative $1.68 million for the quarter compared to negative $1.16 million in the prior year.
