Vaccinex, Inc. is a biotechnology firm operating in the clinical stage, dedicated to identifying and developing specialized biological therapies. Its core mission is to address serious medical conditions and diseases that currently lack adequate treatment options. The company's therapeutic endeavors encompass a broad spectrum of illnesses, including various forms of cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and autoimmune diseases. At the forefront of its pipeline is pepinemab, a humanized monoclonal antibody. This leading candidate has either concluded or is scheduled for Phase 1b/2 clinical investigations, exploring its efficacy against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), Huntington's disease, Alzheimer's disease, osteosarcoma, and melanoma. Furthermore, Vaccinex is progressing with VX5, a human antibody targeting CXCL13, which is presently in preclinical assessment for potential application in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other autoimmune conditions. The company was established in 2001 and has its principal operations located in Rochester, New York.
Vaccinex to Report New Biomarker Data and Plans for Phase 2B Clinical Trial of Pepinemab in AD at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in London on July 13, 2026
Vaccinex announced it will present new biomarker data from its Phase 1b/2 SIGNAL-AD trial and outline plans for an enlarged randomized Phase 2B SIGNAL-AD2 study of pepinemab for early Alzheimer's disease at the AAIC conference in London.
The presentation will highlight evidence that pepinemab regulates glial biomarkers associated with synaptic loss and cognitive decline, supporting the hypothesis that blocking SEMA4D protects astrocyte function.
Pepinemab is also being evaluated in oncology combinations, including the KEYNOTE-B84 study with Merck’s KEYTRUDA for head and neck cancer and a study with BAVENCIO for pancreatic cancer.
