Vera Bradley Announces Second Quarter Fiscal Year 2027 Results
Vera Bradley logged its second consecutive quarter of overall growth, with fiscal Q2 2027 net revenues up 1.1% to $71.6 million and GAAP net income from continuing operations of $4.5 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, versus a year-ago loss of ($0.17). Non-GAAP EPS was $0.11 versus ($0.02) last year.
The Direct segment grew 8.0% to $65.4 million with comparable sales up 9.2% across all channels, while Indirect revenue fell 39.4% to $6.3 million on marketplace-strategy shifts. Gross margin expanded to 59.8% from 50.1%, though $7.7 million of one-time tariff refunds drove most of the gain; operating income swung to $4.2 million, a 1230 basis point improvement.
The balance sheet strengthened markedly: cash doubled to $34.2 million, the company carried no debt and no ABL borrowings, inventory fell 28.4% to $69.3 million, and the quarter generated $23 million of operating cash flow.
Management reiterated FY2027 guidance of $255-$270 million in sales and at least 50% improvement in non-GAAP operating loss versus the prior-year loss of ($21.7) million, saying it entered Q3 with strength across full-price and outlet channels.
